Larry Ruhstaller District 2

	Born: April 3, 1948,  San Francisco, California
	Children: Larry and his wife Kitty have been married for over 18 years. They have three children and three grandsons.

Larry Ruhstaller was born in San Francisco on April 3, 1948. He is a fourth generation Stocktonian who grew up and attended local schools in the community.  

He is a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley where he earned his Bachelors of Arts in US History with an emphasis in US city planning. Larry was a Lieutenant JG in the U.S. Navy. He now owns and operates The Alder Market Restaurant and Catering Company and is  currently celebrating their 25th year anniversary in Stockton .  

Larry was first elected to the Stockton City Council in 1996. Larry completed his second and final term on the City Council in 2004 due to term limits. While on the City Council, he also served on the Port Liaison Committee, the Community Improvement, Crime Prevention and Audit Committees, and San Joaquin Area Flood Agency Board of Directors.  

Larry has been involved in a number of community boards and commissions. He was Chairman of the 1993 Stockton Asparagus Festival and President of the Board of Directors of the Stockton Visitors and Convention Bureau. He is a member of the Stockton Beautiful Citizens’ Committee and the Miracle Mile Improvement Association Board of Directors.  

Larry and his wife Kitty have been married for over18 years. They have three children and three grandsons.
