PRESENTATION

9:00 a.m. -       bos - Proclamation Proclaiming February 25 through March 3, 2008 as "Peace Corps Week" in San Joaquin County.  Chairman Vogel presented the proclamation to Mickie Flores.  Mrs. Flores addressed the Board.

9:00 a.m. -       mhcsd - Public Hearing and Ballot Proceeding to Form Mountain House Community Services District Consolidation Landscape Maintenance Assessment District No. 2008-1, Questa Neighborhood Zone 1. Paul Sensibaugh, General Manager of the Mountain House Community Services District, gave the staff report.  Attorney Timothy Hachman reported that the vote in favor of the formation of the district and for the levying of the assessment was 100 per cent in favor.  Approved Resolution.  Ornellas/Mow/5   R-08-117

2.                  pw - Adopt the Action Plan Update 2008 for New Water Supply in San Joaquin County and Appropriate an Additional $1,200,000 to the Mokelumne River and Water Power Authority Budget. PUBLIC COMMENT

Sheriff Steve Moore informed the Board that the Jail Needs Assessment Study was delivered to his office the previous day.  They will be sending their draft proposal to CSA by March 4.  The final proposal has to be submitted to CSA by March 18. 

 

Public Comment (continued)

Supervisor Mow stated that the City/County Criminal Justice Task Force would be using the study as a starting point for discussions.

Sheriff Moore and County Administrator Manuel Lopez assured the Board that they would receive the draft report a week prior to the Board Meeting of March 11.

BOARD OF SUPERVISORS QUESTIONS AND COMMENTS

Supervisor Ruhstaller reported on a recent neighborhood meeting in his Supervisorial District to discuss FEMA mapping, crime and graffiti. 

Supervisor Ornellas informed the Board that the California Water Partnership Policy Subcommittee met in Stockton on Monday, February 25. 

Supervisor Mow reported on a Joint meeting with the City of Stockton Parks and Recreation Commission and the County Parks and Recreation Commission held Monday evening on February 25.  Supervisor Mow also inquired about his appointment to the Planning Commission due to the resignation of his former appointee. 

Supervisor Gutierrez requested that the matter of using interns by the Board of Supervisors be placed on a future agenda for discussion.

Supervisor Mow requested that the matter of Legislative Assistants filing 700 forms be included at the same time interns are discussed by the Board.
