Consent Item: #10
– Steve Hicks, Interim Airport Director, explained the proposal in response to
Chairman Vogel. It includes a business
plan, financial analysis, a financial plan and recommendations for an airport
protection boundary. This is separate
from the Airport East project. A Master
Plan Advisory Committee will be established utilizing members of the community
to provide recommendations to the contractor.
The Council of Governments (COG) will be doing an air land use
compatibility assessment. A sound study
will be done by the contractor and by COG.
They will share data in this regard.

– Supervisor Mow commented that he is pleased that we are moving forward with
the Master Plan. Facilities Management
Director Craig Ogata gave an update on the Micke Grove Zoo Master Plan and
expansion of the

and Sandy Leiting clarified the retiree health plans and costs. County Administrator Manuel Lopez also

- GENERAL GOVERNMENT

purchasing -
Adoption of Policy and Procedures Governing "Green Purchasing." Purchasing
Director Cliff Baumer gave the staff report. The
Board adopted the policy and Procedures governing “Green Purchasing” and
authorized the Director of Purchasing and Support Services to implement their
use county wide. The Board further
directed that the Director of Purchasing and Support Services develop goals and
a reporting system for this policy, and return them for Board adoption within

COMMUNICATIONS
There were no Board Communications.
PUBLIC
COMMENT
Nancy
Ortiz addressed the Board regarding their matter of being cited for a carport
by Code Enforcement. Chairman Vogel
noted to Ms. Ortiz that she would be referred to the appropriate staff after
the Board meeting.
Cary Martin thanked
the Board for their appointment to the Mental Health Board. Mr. Martin informed the Board that the
California Partnership for the San Joaquin Valley/Meth Recovery Project will
have a meeting at UOP. He will furnish
the Board additional information.
BOARD
OF SUPERVISORS QUESTIONS AND COMMENTS
Chairman Vogel requested a
report of the flooding of the Courthouse.
County Administrator Manuel Lopez briefed the board on the status of the
courthouse flooding that occurred on February 14, 2008. Facilities Management Director Craig Ogata
and Risk Manager Richard Pietz gave additional information on the cleanup
process.
