APPROVE CONSENT ITEMS # 1-46

Consent Item:               #25 – Public Works Director Tom Flinn responded to questions from Supervisor Vogel regarding Highway 12 being at the top of the 2007 Top Ten Priority List of San Joaquin County Special Funded Transportation Projects.  Chairman Mow and Supervisor Ornellas commented on     Highway 4.  Mr. Flinn indicated that Public Works has been working with Contra Costa County regarding Highway 4.

 

Approve Consent Items (continued)

Consent Item:               #28 – Chairman Mow announced that this item was being removed, however, Supervisor Gutierrez had questions.  County Administrator Manuel Lopez explained why it had been removed from the agenda.     Supervisor Gutierrez inquired about the building lease agreement.  Probation Officer Chris Hope explained concerns regarding the lease and that Probation would be working on the matter to bring back to the Board in January 2008.  In response to Supervisor Vogel, Mr. Hope stated that smaller caseloads assigned to Probation Officers do have an impact in the reduction of recidivism.    

Consent Item:               #38 – In response to Supervisor Vogel, Director of Facilities Management Director Craig Ogata explained the process to sublet the Micke Grove Golf Course and clarified the agreement that the County has with American Golf. 

Consent Item:               #29 – Supervisor Ruhstaller stated that he has received several calls from constituents that requested this item be explained to them and that they  also have the opportunity to comment.  Acting Captain Souza and Sergeant Sam Malcolm explained the ordinance and responded to questions.  Richard Dunn addressed the Board on this matter.

Consent Item:               #44 – In response to Supervisors Ruhstaller and Gutierrez and Chairman Mow, Interim Registrar of Voters Austin Erdman gave a brief outline of where we are headed with our elections in the next twelve months, why we are spending all of this money, the fiscal impact we are looking at, and if this is a California phenomenon or a nationwide movement.
