PRESENTATION

9:00 a.m. - bos - Recognition of Robert Palmer, Retirement Administrator.  On behalf of the Board, Chairman Mow presented Mr. Palmer with a plaque for his service to San Joaquin County.  Mr. Palmer addressed the Board.

Consent Item:                #4 – Chairman Mow informed the Board of a correction in the Board letter, i.e., under Natalie Lee, the Staff Category was to be Provisional and not Provisional to Active.

Consent Item:               #15 - Supervisor Ornellas called to the attention of the County Administrator a typographical error on the Board Order, i.e., the Board Order number B-01-1656 should be B-01-1655.  Supervisor Ornellas also requested a report of the status of the fifteen items that were listed on the Board Order that was approved on December 11, 2001.

PUBLIC COMMENT

Richard Green, President of the Deputy District Attorneys Association of San Joaquin County and a Member of the Attorneys Association that represents the three categories of attorneys. i.e.,  Deputy District Attorneys, Child Support Attorneys and Public Defenders, addressed the Board regarding negotiations.  Mr. Green distributed information that included the grade and step assignments for San Joaquin County attorneys, comparison of salary for grades and step assignment and comparison compensation for retirement benefits.

ToCan Nguyen, addressed the Board on various matters.

 

 

BOARD OF SUPERVISORS QUESTIONS AND COMMENTS

Supervisor Ornellas inquired about a Deputy Sheriff assignment for the Board Meetings.  County Administrator Manuel Lopez stated that he would look into the matter.

Supervisor Ruhstaller informed the Board of a one-hour long program on the TV History Channel  regarding airport runways.

Supervisor Gutierrez reported on the Southeast Coalition Graduation Ceremony scheduled at the Fairgrounds in July and the El Joven Noble Program at Stagg High School.
