COMMENT
Donald Roberts addressed the Board regarding problems he encountered
with
Gene Davenport addressed the Board regarding the establishment of a San
Joaquin Dart Team. He had previously
attended a Board meeting and wanted to follow-up with a report to the
Board.
Public Comment (continued)
Kurt Cooper addressed the Board regarding inaccurate statements given
to the Board at a previous Board meeting regarding the airport.
ToCan Nguyen addressed the Board on various matters.
BOARD
OF SUPERVISORS QUESTIONS AND COMMENTS
Supervisor Ornellas asked whether or not the two operation officers at
the airport were hired. County
Administrator Manuel Lopez stated that he had talked to the Airport Director
and the two officers had been hired.
Supervisor Ornellas stated that he had received a letter from his
appointment, John Garzoli, to the Aviation Advisory Board resigning due to the
change of the meeting date by the Airport Director. It was his understanding that the meeting
date was set by
Supervisor Gutierrez reported that the Department of Corrections met with
several representatives and that there was discussion that the Women’s Facility
would be reopened. One portion would be
utilized for incarcerated individuals and the other portion would be used to
house San Joaquin Jail overflow. The
State would be responsible for the re-entry program for their incarcerated
individuals and the County would be responsible for the overflow. Supervisor Gutierrez was not able to attend
the meeting but he expressed his concern that he believed these discussions
should be public. Supervisor Gutierrez
stated that he feels it is important for the Board to begin these
discussions. He is going to contact the
Department of Corrections to contact Chairman Mow.
Supervisor Gutierrez also reported on the Gang Intervention Program.
Supervisor Ruhstaller echoed Supervisor Gutierrez’s comments regarding
the Women’s facility.
Chairman Mow stated that for the record he was not contacted to
participate in any meeting regarding the Women’s Facility.
