1. bos - Discussion on Legislative
Assistant Appointment Process. The Board directed staff to bring back to
the Board the options discussed that included (1) creating a single class of
Board of Supervisors’ Legislative Assistant to replace the current class
structure of Legislative Assistant and Senior Legislative Assistant; (2) establishing a 3-step salary grade set at the current
Senior Legislative Assistant salary grade level 69l; (3) establishing a 5%
supplement for the Board Chairman’s Board of Supervisor’s Legislative Assistant
during the Board Member’s term as Chairman; and (4) modifying the appointment
process to allow the individual Board Member to directly appoint his/her
Legislative Assistant without ratification by the entire Board of

Larry Baker addressed the Board regarding the Fifth Annual Black History Month Celebration and a Stockton Record article dated December 29, 2007 regarding the State Appeals Court restoring voting rights of jail inmates statewide who are serving a year or less for felony convictions.
