9:00 a.m. - pw - Public Hearing to Certify the Proposition 218 Balloting Results to Increase the Lighting Assessment in County Service Area #50 and to Approve the Engineer's Report for Service Charges and Assessment in County Service Area #50. (5th District)   Director of Public Works Tom Flinn introduced Public Works Business Administrator Roger Janes who addressed the Board on this matter.  Approved Resolution.  Ornellas/Sieglock/5  R-06-593

PRESENTATIONS

9:00 a.m. - bos - Proclamation Proclaiming October 2006 as "Physical Therapy Month" in San Joaquin County.  Chairman Marenco presented the proclamation to Shelley Marchetti, Physical Therapist and Manager for St. Joseph’s Rehabilitation Services.  Ms. Marchetti introduced Cathy Peterson, Director of the Physical Therapy Program at the University of the Pacific (UOP), several students from University of the Pacific and Leonore Fernandez, PR Chair of the North East District California Chapter of the American Physical Therapy Association.

9:00 a.m. - bos - Proclamation Proclaiming October, 2006 as "Domestic Violence Awareness" Month in San Joaquin County.  There was no one present to receive proclamation.

PUBLIC COMMENT

Georgianna Reichelt and Elizabeth Campbell addressed the Board regarding the American Legion Post located at the airport.  County Administrator Manuel Lopez stated that staff will furnish Mmes. Reichelt and Campbell a response in writing.

Stephanie Batey of SEIU addressed the Board regarding labor negotiations with SEIU.

BOARD OF SUPERVISORS QUESTIONS AND COMMENTS

Supervisor Mow reminded County Administrator Manuel Lopez that he had previously requested information regarding the graffiti policy of the county.  Mr. Lopez stated that he should receive the information soon.

Supervisor Ornellas reported on the purpose of his Legislative Assistant Scott Tyrrell’s attendance at the recent Manteca City Council meeting with respect to a letter that the Manteca City Council had on their agenda for consideration regarding support for the Stockton Metropolitan Airport. 

Supervisor Sieglock commended Supervisor Mow and said that the Third Supervisorial District was fortunate to have him as their representative.
