Consent Item:               #8 –Chairman Gutierrez stated that one of his concerns regarding travel is that there is an opportunity for a cost savings.  Those individuals that travel need to arrange his/her trip in advance so that the best fare and an early registration fee can be obtained.  In response to Chairman Gutierrez and Supervisor Mow, County Administrator Manuel Lopez stated that the county does have a travel policy and that individuals are encouraged to use the internet to obtain the best travel prices.  Approved.   Sieglock/Mow/5

1.                  bos - Oral Report by Jean Gleason, Executive Director of American Red Cross-San Joaquin County Chapter, on Hurricane Katrina Relief Efforts in San Joaquin County.  Ms. Gleason gave an update report to the Board.

BOARD OF SUPERVISORS QUESTIONS AND COMMENTS

Supervisors Mow and Sieglock brought up the matter of the proposed casino in Amador County and the impacts that it may have on San Joaquin County.  Chairman Gutierrez stated that this matter would be agendized for the November 8 Board Meeting.
