BOARD OF SUPERVISORS QUESTIONS AND
COMMENTS
Supervisor Marenco asked if a report was forthcoming
regarding the issue of sewer service to the unincorporated areas that are not
annexed to the city. County
Administrator Manuel Lopez stated that he will get back to the Board in a few
weeks.
Supervisor Mow asked if the Clerk of the Board
could provide additional seating for the press at the front of the chambers.
Supervisor Ornellas commented on information
provided by the Registrar of Voters regarding a Special Election called for by
the Governor on November 8, 2005.
Chairman Gutierrez informed the Board that a
letter had been received by Attorney Michael D. Hakeem requesting that
Woodbridge Subdivision matter scheduled for the afternoon session be continued.
Cary Martin requested that the Board direct
flags in the County to be flown at half staff for a period of three days for
Sgt. Victor H. Cervantes who was recently killed in Afghanistan. He also requested that the same direction be
extended to other San Joaquin County citizens who are in the military and die
while serving our country.

Robert Wooten addressed the Board regarding his difference of opinion of the hiring and firing authority of Deputy Sheriffs. Supervisor Mow informed Mr. Wooten that the Grand Jury just released a report that includes this matter. The report will be public shortly and the Board will furnish him a copy.
