BOARD OF SUPERVISORS QUESTIONS AND
COMMENTS
Supervisor Mow stated that he and Supervisor Sieglock had been contacted
by a father whose son had earned his Eagle Scout Award by doing many hours of
work at Micke Grove Park. The family
would like to have the Eagle Scout Award ceremony at Micke Grove. Supervisor Mow asked if the entrance fee
could be waived so that family and friends could attend the ceremony. The County Administrator and County Counsel
were directed to meet to work out a solution to this matter.
Supervisor Sieglock commented on the good news that San Joaquin County was
spared from the Base Closure list. He
also commented on the favorable decision of the Supreme Court to allow
interstate commerce. Lastly, Supervisor
Sieglock praised the Governor for restoring $1.3 billion back to
transportation, $12 million for West Nile Virus, $30 million for welfare paid
performance, and for air pollution funding.
Chairman Gutierrez informed the Board of a task force
that is starting in San Joaquin County that has to do with feeding the
hungry. He is interested in serving on
the task force and has also asked Human Services Agency Director Joe Chelli to
participate.
