PRESENTATIONS

9:00 a.m.  -      bos - Proclamation Proclaiming May 2005 as “Veteran Appreciation and Hire-A-Veteran Month” in San Joaquin County.  Karl Ross Post Commander Tino Adame, San Joaquin County Veterans Services Officer Ron Green received the proclamation and addressed the Board.  Cary Martin also addressed the Board on this matter.

9:00 a.m.  -      bos - Proclamation Proclaiming May 2005 as “Older Americans Month” in San Joaquin County.  Dave Erb, Director of the Children and Adult Services Program, Human Services Agency, received the proclamation and addressed the Board on this matter.

9:00 a.m.  -      bos - Proclamation Proclaiming May 2005 as “California Water Awareness Month” in San Joaquin County.  Public Works Director Tom Flinn addressed the Board and introduced T. C. Arbuckle, Grounds Facility Manager for San Joaquin Delta College, Dave Hurley, Vice Principal at Morada Middle School and two students from Morada Middle School who all addressed the Board.

PUBLIC COMMENT

ToCan Nguyen addressed the Board on various matters.

Larry Baker addressed the Board and thanked Chairman Gutierrez for attending a Beyond Incarcertation Meeting at the County Honor Farm.  Mr. Baker also invited Board Members to attend the Black Symposium scheduled for Saturday, May 14, 2005 at Delta College Tillie Lewis Theater.

Cary Martin addressed the Board regarding the Substance Abuse Services Mitigation Plan and informed them of a Concerned Citizens meeting on May 5, 2005 at the Trunity Lutheran Church at 444 North American Street.

Beverly Foster addressed the Board regarding ice cream trucks selling toy guns to children.  Supervisor Mow requested that this matter be reviewed and brought back to the Board.
