Vice Chairman Dario Marenco asked for a moment of silence for the recent
passing of Supervisor Gutierrez’s mother and for the passing of Pope John Paul
II.

9:02 a.m. The Board went into Closed Session.
9:04 a.m. The Board returned from Closed Session and announced that the Board tentatively selected James Larsen. County Administrator Manuel Lopez read the terms and conditions of employment and Mr. Larsen stated that he accepted them. Therefore, the Board appointed James Larsen as Public Defender. Clerk of the Board Lois Sahyoun administered the Oath of
Office to Mr. Larsen and he subsequently addressed the Board.

and to Sherry Coburn, Director of Comprehensive Health for the Office of
Education. Mr. Devencenzi and Ms.
Coburn addressed the Board.

Director of the Children & Adult Services, Human Service Agency, received

addressed the Board regarding mandatory overtime at Juvenile Hall. Mr. Watts presented a petition to the Board.

Supervisor Mow brought to the attention of the Board an article that appeared in the Stockton Record regarding public health statistics from California’s counties that puts San Joaquin County near the bottom.
