9:00 a.m. - bos - Presentation to John Phillips, Retiring San Joaquin County District Attorney.  Vice-Chairman Dario Marenco presented a plaque on behalf of the Board to John Phillips.  Mr. Phillips addressed the Board.

9:00 a.m. - bos - Presentation to Gerald Gleeson, Retiring San Joaquin County Public Defender.  Vice-Chairman Dario Marenco presented a plaque on behalf of the Board to Gerald Gleeson.  Mr. Gleeson addressed the Board.

Consent Item:               #9 and 10 – Supervisor Sieglock commended Health Care Services Director Ken Cohen and his staff for their efforts in a policy shift. He said that it means $4.8 million does not have to come from the General Fund.

Consent Item:               #15 – In response to Supervisor Sieglock, Health Care Services Director Ken Cohen stated that he is satisfied with the negotiations with the State.

BOARD OF SUPERVISORS QUESTIONS AND COMMENTS

Supervisor Ornellas reported that he heard the Veterans Administration was “shopping” around in the valley for older, unused medical buildings for a possible site.

Supervisor Mow stated that Chairman Gutierrez’s mother is quite ill and that the Board sends their prayers and thoughts.
