REORGANIZATIONAL MEETING

MONDAY, JANUARY 3, 2005

11:00 A.M.

 

 

Invocation by Reverend David Bennett.

 

Pledge of Alliegiance by Supervisor Mow.

 

PRESENT: SUPERVISOR ORNELLAS, MOW, GUTIERREZ, MARENCO, SIEGLOCK

 

 

Chairman Ornellas outlined the accomplishments of the county during the year 2004 that included the Right to Farm Ordinance, Baby Safe Haven for Surrendered Infants, the County Airport, Illegal Dumping of Trash Ordinance, City of Ripon Park, Upper Jones Tract Flooding, and the hiring of two Department Heads -  Ken Cohen, Director of Health Care Services and Kerry Sullivan, Director of the Community Development Department. 

Chairman Ornellas also commented on the issues for the upcoming 2005 year.  He thanked County Department Heads for their efforts for their efforts and accomplishments over the past year.

 

 

ELECTION OF OFFICERS:

 

Supervisor Steven Gutierrez elected as Chairman for the Year 2005.  Sieglock/Mow/5  B-05-1

 

Supervisor Dario L. Marenco elected as Vice-Chairman for the Year 2005.  Mow/Gutierrez/5  B-05-2

On behalf of the Board newly- elected Chairman Steven Gutierrez presented Supervisor Ornellas with a plaque  and commented on his leadership and his sense of humor during his Chairmanship in 2004.

 

Chairman Gutierrez thanked Reverend David Bennett, Superior Court Judge Bob W. McNatt, Superior Court Judge James Cadle and U.S. District Court Judge Consuelo M. Callahan for taking the time out of their schedules to participate in the Reorganizational meeting. 

 

Chairman Gutierrez introduced his son and family members who were present, John Solis, Director of Employment and Economic Development and Michael Miller of Employment & Economic Department.  He then introduced his Legislative Assistant Carlos Villapuada and the other Legislative Assistants Denise Warmerdam, Joanne White and ScottTyrrell.  He thanked  the Clerk of the Board and her staff, the County Administrator and County Counsel, the constituents of the First Supervisorial District, his Legislative Assistant, county staff and Board members.
