9:00 a.m. - Presentatation Designating May 16-22, 2004 as "National Public Works Week." Ken Grehm, Placer County, President of Americans Public Works Association, Sacramento Chapter, addressed the Board and awarded San Joaquin County Employee Felipe Maldonado with the Award of Merits for 2004. Tom Flinn, Public Works Director, introduced the Public Works Employees of the Year, David Castagna and Gordon Briseno.
9:00 a.m. - bos - Presentation of Proclamation Proclaiming the Week of May 10 through May 14, 2004 as “Juror Appreciation Week” in San Joaquin County. Judge Bob McNatt, Presiding Judge of the Superior Court and Rosa Juniquero, Court Executive Officer, addressed the Board and introduced Bea Gin, Deputy Jury Commissioner.

Consider the Renaming of Stockton Metropolitan Airport. Barry Rondinella, Airport Director and
Manuel Lopez, County Administrator, addressed the Board on this matter. Recommendation to appoint Supervisor Mow,
Chairman Ornellas, Barry Rondinella, Airport Director to the Airport
Subcommittee, and recommend individuals for appointment to an Airport Naming
Panel, and to recommend the basic rules of process by which the proposed
Airport Naming Panel shall operate..

PUBLIC COMMENT
Rose Renfrow, Pastor Paul Baldwin, Bishop Lewis Stallworth Jr., Ralph White, and Robert Porter, addressed the Board in regards to Mondez Denmon who died at the county jail on September 5, 2003. Requesting that the Board write a letter to the Judicial Council for review of the case.
Arthur Murrillo, Ministers & Community United, addressed the Board suggesting that the Board consider implementing training workshops for county law enforcement.
Michael Lang, Valley Patients Alliance, addressed the Board regarding the implementation of Medical Marijuana Senate Bill 420 in San Joaquin County.
ToCan Nguyen, addressed the Board on various matters.
BOARD OF SUPERVISORS QUESTIONS AND COMMENTS
Supervisor
Marenco, commented on the a status report he received regarding the ambulance
service and asked that Ken Cohen, Interim Director of Health Care Services be
informed of this matter and address it.

Gutierrez, commented on the public request to send a letter to the judicial
council to review the decision made by Judge Guilliani, in regards to the
Mondez Denmon case.
