- Pulled for discussion. Martha Mallery, a member of the California
Native Plant Society, addressed the Board regarding the condition of the oak
trees at Oak Grove Regional Park.
Craig Ogata, Facilities Management Director also commented on this
matter and responded to questions from Supervisor Sieglock and Chairman
Ornellas regarding the new dam in Lodi and whether or not the county will have
the money to carry out the policy, and the method of supplemental

Mow, expressed his concerns on the out-of-state travel items on the agenda.
County Administrator Manuel Lopez responded to Supervisor Mow’s questions as to
whether or not administrative leave could be used for certain out-of-state
travel.

Detectives Cold Homicide Pilot Program.
Assistant Sheriff Stan Hein and Captain Mike Esau of the Sheriff’s
Department, addressed the Board on this matter and responded to concerns of
Supervisors Sieglock and Mow and Chairman Ornellas regarding as to whether or
not this was the best way to use our resources, and if there is cooperation
from the cities trying to solve these cases.
Assistant Sheriff Hein indicated that they would be coming back to the
Board on February 3 with a report. Marenco/Mow/5 B-04-28

COMMENT
Ann Chargin, Richard Hackett, and, Sherry Shields of Stockton addressed the Board regarding ship activities at the Port of Stockton that are incompatible with the Riviera Cliffs residential area and asked the Board for their assistance. Mr. Hackett submitted two video tapes for viewing by the Board. Supervisor Mow requested that they contact his office to arrange for a meeting.
On behalf of the flight nurses of UC Davis Life Flight, Jennifer Noble of Sacramento addressed the Board, and requested a resolution from San Joaquin County supporting the Life Flight Helicopter and UC Davis Children’s Hospital Pediatric Services Program. She indicated that other counties have passed resolutions. Ms. Noble submitted an informational packet and video tape to the Board.
