Chairman Sieglock announced that Assemblywoman Barbara Matthews was present and that in order for the Board to interface with her, a motion was needed to place her on the agenda.    Mow/Gutierrez/5   B-03-770

 

Assemblywoman Barbara Matthews addressed the Board regarding the State budget and responded to questions and comments from Board Members.

Consent Item:                           #7 – Pulled for discussion by Supervisor Gutierrez.  Supervisor Gutierrez praised the Children and Families Commission and their goals to provide health care for children.  Lani Schiff-Ross, Children and Families Program Coordinator, and Terry Mack, Chief Executive Director of Health Plan of San Joaquin, addressed the Board on this matter.

Consent Item:                                        #8 – Lani Schiff-Ross, Children & Families Program Coordinatior, responded  to Supervisor Marenco’s questions regarding this matter.   

 

Consent Item:                           #19 – Judith Jones, Deputy Director of CalWORKS responded to Supervisor’s question regarding the costs of bus passes.

Consent Item:                           #36    Public Works Director Tom Flinn responded to concerns and questions of Supervisors Marenco, Ornellas and Mow.   In response to Chairman Sieglock, County Counsel Terry Dermody clarified  the issue before the Board on the matter.

John Herrick, Counsel for South Delta Water Agency, Kevin Kaufmann, Stockton East Water District General Manager, and Anthony Barkett, Stockton East Water District consultant, addressed the Board on this matter.

This item was continued to July 1, 2003.

Emily Emory addressed the Board on various matters.

Bill Ries-Knight addressed the Board and suggested that the County should explore using Lenix rather than Microsoft on the desktops.

Raymond Recinos,, representing the Central Labor Council, provided the Board a copy of the San Joaquin-Calaveras Counties Central Labor Council  Resolution supporting San Joaquin County Homecare Workers.  

ToCan Nguyen addressed the Board on various matters.
