BOARD OF SUPERVISORS QUESTIONS AND COMMENTS

Chairman Sieglock wished all mothers a “Happy Mothers Day” on Sunday May 11, 2003.

Supervisor Gutierrez requested a status report on Capital projects, i.e., buildings and space, parking and cooperative efforts with the City of Stockton.  Supervisor Gutierrez also referred to a recent report the Board received from the County Administrator regarding the County cell phone costs.  He indicated that he would like to see that cell phone expenses be further reduced in light of the current budget situation.

Supervisor Marenco suggested that we monitor the monies received during the period that we have a lobbyist.  He felt that if we looked at the past two years where the County did not have a lobbyist that the monies received would be the same or perhaps more.

Supervisor Ornellas attended the recent Asparagus Festival and observed that there was a helicopter circulating.  However, he could not determine if it was a media helicopter or the sheriff’s helicopter.  Supervisor Ornellas requested that the County Administrator look into this matter.
