     9:00 a.m. - bos  - Presented Proclamation Designating the Month of March as "National Women's History Month” to Pat Meredith, American Association of University Women, Women’s History Month representative.

9:00 a.m. - bos - Presented Proclamation Proclaiming the Month of March as "American Red Cross Month” to Tony Washington, Member of the Board of Directors, American Red Cross, Stockton.

9:00 a.m. - bos -  Presented Certificate of Recognition to Steve Wilensky, Retiring from SEIU Local 790.  Marcus Williams, San Joaquin Valley Chapter Vice-President, of Local 790, accepted Certificate of Recognition on behalf of Steve Wilensky, who was unable to be present.  Pat Ikeda, San Joaquin Valley Chapter President and Treasurer of Local 790,  also made comments recognizing Mr. Wilensky’s work with SEIU.

responded to Supervisor Mow’s  inquiry regarding the tracking mechanism once clients have completed the program.  Supervisor Gutierrez asked whether or not San Joaquin County had an agreement with neighboring counties.  Mr. Vera stated that we have an intercounty transfer process but not an actual agreement.

PUBLIC COMMENT

Randall Downey inquired about the questions he had at the March 4, 2003 Board Meeting regarding Health & Human Services Consent Calendar Item #2 (One-Time-Only Allocation for Aging Program Services).  Chairman Sieglock stated that the County Administrator is still working on the matter.

BOARD OF SUPERVISORS QUESTIONS AND COMMENTS

Supervisor Gutierrez commented on the sound system in the Board Chambers.  Chairman Sieglock indicated that the Clerk of the Board is working on this matter.

Supervisor Gutierrez commented on the recent meeting with State and local officials regarding the Northern California Women’s Facility whereby he suggested that the county lobbyist be involved.  The County Administrator indicated that he had already contacted them.
