BOARD OF SUPERVISORS QUESTIONS AND COMMENTS
Supervisor
Gutierrez reported to the Board that the Cinco de Mayo parade was a complete
success. He thanked the parade
committee for their efforts and Chairman Mow for participating. Next year the committee will encourage the
downtown businesses to be open so that they can benefit from the foot traffic.
Supervisor
Gutierrez updated the Board on the downtown transit center relocation
efforts. He reported that ninety per
cent of the businesses that are located on the transit center block are
experiencing difficulty in relocating, particularly with a comparable
rental/leasing rate. The businesses
plan to present their matter before the Transit Board and before the Board of
Supervisors.
Supervisor
Mow informed the Board of the county’s newly designed web site.
Supervisor
Bedford reported that the search for an Ag Center continues. However, there is a Native American Indian
group that has made an offer of a gift of five acres in the French Camp area to
the county. They would like to come
before the Board in the near future with their proposal. Chairman Mow indicated that he felt fit it
would be premature to consider this offer until the search team that is in
place has completed its site exploration.
