Supervisor Gutierrez thanked the League of Latin American Citizens, Department of Aging,  and volunteers for their support in the annual Christmas Food Basket Distribution Drive to needy families in San Joaquin County.

The Board returned from Closed Session with an announcement concerning the appointment of Tom Flinn as Public Works Director. The terms and conditions of employment were read by County Administrator, Manuel Lopez.  The terms and conditions of employment were accepted by Tom Flinn.  

A  motion was made to formally appoint Tom Flinn as the Public Works Director of San Joaquin County.  Sieglock/Bedford/5  B-02-51. 

The Board requested the employment contract containing the terms and conditions of Tom Flinn be placed on the January 15, 2002 agenda.
