The Board returned from Closed Session with two announcements concerning appointment of the County Administrator and Health Care Services Director.

Appointment of  Manuel Lopez as County Administrator:   

The Board tentatively announced the selection of Manuel Lopez as the new County Administrator of San Joaquin County. County Counsel, Terrence Dermody read the terms and conditions of employment of Manuel Lopez.

The terms and conditions of employment were accepted by Manuel Lopez.  A motion was made to formally appoint Manuel Lopez as the County Administrator of San Joaquin County.  Gutierrez/Bedford/5  B-01-1563  

Appointment of  Roger Speed as Health Care Services Director:

The Board tentatively announced the selection of Roger Speed as the Health Care Services Director.  Newly appointed County Administrator, Manuel Lopez read the terms and conditions of employment of Roger Speed. 

The terms and conditions of employment were accepted by Roger Speed. A motion  made to formally appoint Roger Speed as the Health Care Services Agency Director of San Joaquin County.  Gutierrez/Bedford/5   B-01-1564

The Board requested County Counsel to prepare the employment contracts containing the terms and conditions of Manuel Lopez and Roger Speed and that the matter be placed on the November 27, 2001 agenda.
