BOARD
OF SUPERVISORS QUESTIONS AND COMMENTS
Supervisor Gutierrez
commented on letter received by the Board from concerned county employees about
the attendance of the Civil Service Commission members. Don Turko, Human
Resources Director, was requested to provide the Board with information
regarding this matter.
Additionally, Supervisor Gutierrez indicated that it had been brought to his
attention the unsanitary condition of the public restrooms in the Canlis
Building. He requested Craig Ogata, Facilities Management Director, and Manuel
Lopez, Interim County Administrator to explore possible solutions to correct
this ongoing problem.
As a result of people being displaced from hotels in the downtown Stockton area
due to aggressive code enforcement, Supervisor Mow commented on areas of
concern he has such as social issues, relocation costs, a lack of an inventory
of available housing in order to adequately serve people, and a
need to address these issues with the City of Stockton.
Chairman Marenco indicated the County has been responsible in relocating
individuals who have been displaced. However, he expressed that the City of
Stockton could be more sensitive in this area.
Supervisor Gutierrez also commented on the issues raised by Supervisor Mow.
