BOARD OF SUPERVISORS QUESTIONS AND COMMENTS

Supervisor Gutierrez thanked Board Members for attending the Boggs Tract Meeting held at Washington School on July 30, 2001 at 6:30 pm.  He also thanked Clerk of the Board, Risk Manager staff, and Community Development Department staff in assisting in this meeting.

Supervisor Gutierrez expressed his concern of the poor condition of chairs that were from the Registrar of Voters Office and were not suitable for the Boggs Tract meeting.  The Board directed staff to consider replacing these chairs in the Registrar of Voters Office next budget process.

Supervisor Gutierrez commented on the amount of travel of Human Services Agency and Worknet staff  regarding training.  Supervisor Gutierrez suggested the County perhaps could hire one training consultant to come to San Joaquin County to provide training to all county departments which would be more cost effective.

Supervisor Gutierrez commented that there are only two public restrooms in the courthouse basement to accommodate the long lines of  jurors waiting to use the restrooms.  The Board directed Facilities Management staff to look into this matter, address this problem.and to determine whether or not this is a court fiscal issue.

The Board of Supervisors thanked David Baker, County Administrator, for his service to the Board and San Joaquin County.  The Board wished him well in his future endeavors.
