BOARD OF SUPERVISORS QUESTIONS AND COMMENTS

Supervisor Bedford discussed the Ag Center and requested staff to come back to the Board with a timetable of planned activities related to staff work regarding the Ag Center.

Supervisor Sieglock asked that several corrections be made in the 7/10/01 minutes with respect to his vote on Consent Items Approved: #6, Part A (Contract No. 9) & Item #36.

Supervisor Gutierrez requested that staff report back to the Board to further discuss the noise ordinance, particularly with leaf blowers in residential areas or zones that are commerical next to residential areas.  Supervisor Gutierrez stated that the City of Stockton has a noise ordinance addressing leaf blowers.  Supervisor Mow also requested that staff include in its report the right-to-farm issue and how that area would be affected by a noise ordinance

Supervisor Gutierrez  requested that the Human Service Agency staff report back to the Board immediately to discuss a General Relief rate increase.  In order to prevent General Relief clients from becoming homeless, Supervisor Gutierrez expressed that the Board address this issue rather than waiting for the City of Stockton’s hotel/motel ordinance to move forward and due to the possible threat of Hotel/Motel Owners Association evicting General Relief clients.
