Manuel Lopez, Director of Public Works Department, introduced Steve Meredith, Teacher and Advisor to Environmental Science Club, of Bear Creek High School.  Morris Allen, Director of City of Stockton Municipal Utilities District, and Jeannette Thomas, Assistant General Manger of Stockton East Water District, were also present for this matter

9:00 a.m. - bos - Presentation of Proclamation for Foster Care Month. Dave Erb, Deputy Director, Children Services, was present and introduced Laurie Varela, Foster Parent, Rose Orosco, Foster Parent, and members of the Foster Care Licensing Unit of Human Services Agency, who were present in the audience.

9:00 a.m. - bos - Presentation of Proclamation for Juror Appreciation Week. The Honorable Judge William Murray was present for this matter.

1.                  fac/mngt - Conceptual Approval of the San Joaquin County Agricultural Center Project. Craig Ogata, Director of Facilities Management, Scott Hudson, Agricultural Commissioner, and Gary Johnson, of Cooperative Extension, addressed the Board on this matter.  APPROVED STAFF RECOMMENDATIONS.  Sieglock/Bedford – 5      B-01-648

2.                  fac/mngt - Approve Agreement for Design and Engineering Services - San Joaquin General Hospital Phase 2 Project. 3.                  treas - Proposed Purchase of Tax-Delinquent Parcel by the City of Ripon.  Shabbir Khan, Treasurer Tax Collector, informed the Board of Supervisors the parcel has been redeemed and removed from the tax sale – No motion needed on this matter.

BOARD OF SUPERVISORS QUESTIONS AND COMMENTS

Supervisor Gutierrez commented on the Mary Graham Children’s Shelter referring to a newspaper article in the May 15, 2001 of the Stockton Record.  Supervisor Gutierrez indicated he would meet with the County Administrator to review his concerns.
