BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

MONDAY, JANUARY 4, 1999

PRESENT: SUPERVISORS SIMAS, CABRAL, MARENCO, GUTIERREZ, BARBER

The Meeting was called to Order by Chairman George L. Barber at 11:00 a.m.

Invocation by Rev. William David Hanley.

Outgoing Chairman Barber gave closing remarks and thanked his Constituents and County Staff for their support for the past 24 years.

Supervisor Marenco presented Mr. Barber with a Plaque made from the wood of the old Courthouse Building, along with a Set of Coins from 1974, the year Mr. Barber was elected.

Lois Sahyoun, Clerk of the Board, presented Mr. Barber with a Gold Pocket Watch on behalf of Clerk of the Board & Board of Supervisors Staff.

Swearing In Ceremony:

The Honorable Judge Rolleen McIlwrath swore in Supervisor Marenco for another term.

The Honorable Judge David Warner swore in newly elected Supervisor Jack A. Sieglock for his first term of office.

Election of Chairman:

Supervisor Robert J. Cabral was elected as Chairman of the Board of Supervisors for 1999.

Simas/Sieglock – 3, Marenco & Gutierrez – No. B-99-1

Election of Vice-Chairman:

Supervisor Edward A. Simas was elected as Vice-Chairman of the Board of Supervisors for 1999.

Sieglock/Simas – 3, Marenco & Gutierrez – No. B-99-2
