10:30 a.m. - eedd - Oral Presentation of the Summer Youth Employment & Training Programs
Award Recipients. John Solis, Executive Director, of Economic & Employment
Development Department, addressed the Board and thanked staff members for their
dedication to the Summer Youth Employment & Training Program: Diane Kilby;
Elena Mangahas; Karen Keen; Lonia Cornelos; Melyn Cardenas, and Mary Robinson. Participants Award of Merit were presented to Marcus Wilson; Quang
Nguyen; Sophal Lanh; Beatriz German, and Angela Valenzuela. Worksite Supervisors Certificate of Recognition were presented to Isochilt Garcia; Phyllis
Miranda; Robin Kirk; Troy Morgan, and Conrad Mayhew. Worksite Supervisor of the Year, JoAnn Gwinn, was presented with a Commendation.

Supervisor Cabral discussed the matter of the Altamont Commuter Express and the Commuter Authority Board of Directors establishing October 19, l998 as the official start up date for the Fare Service revenue service of the ACE Commuter Train between Stockton and San Jose.
