MINUTE SUMMARY

MONDAY, JANUARY 5, 1998

The Reorganizational Meeting was called to order at 11:00 a.m.

Present: Supervisors Simas, Cabral, Marenco, Gutierrez, Barber

Invocation: Reverend Wayne Kildall

Outgoing Chairman Edward A. Simas thanked his support staff and discussed his accomplishments from 1997.

Supervisor Simas also directed Dan DeAngelis, San Joaquin Municipal Airport Manager, to present a report to the Board of Supervisors on January 20, 1998 regarding current airport issues, including the re-naming of the airport to San Joaquin International Airport - Stockton Field.

Motion to Appoint Supervisor George L. Barber as Chairman for 1998: Gutierrez/Cabral - 5

Motion to Appoint Supervisor Dario L. Marenco as Vice-Chairman for 1998:

Incoming Chairman George L. Barber presented a plaque and a clock to Supervisor Simas and stated his goals for 1998.
