on their participation in the 1999 Rose Parade. Dr. Katie Talbot, CEO; Sedrick Mitchell, LHS

McKay, Auxiliary Major, were also present for this presentation.

BOARD OF SUPERVISORS QUESTIONS AND COMMENTS

With the Board’s concurrence, Supervisor Marenco drafted a letter to Senator Johnston and Assemblyman Machado nominating Chairman Barber to the State Water Quality Control Board

commencing Jan. 1, 1999, after his tenure as a Supervisor.

Supervisor Marenco addressed the issue of the Board of Supervisors’ Meeting beginning at

9:00 a.m. while he is Chairman. He also commented on his Community Centers’ Basketball

Tournaments and the unflagging participation of the Deputy Sheriffs.

Supervisor Gutierrez commended the Supervisors’ assistance and cooperation in distribution of

seven hundred Christmas food baskets this holiday season.

Supervisor Gutierrez assured staff /public that the Board’s audio system and Media One ‘s transmission upgrades will improve the listening/viewing quality of meetings. Chairman Barber

advised that the Facilities Management is also looking-into computer enhancements and

Modifications.

On behalf of the Farm Bureau, Chairman Barber presented Supervisor Cabral with a California State Fair plaque acknowledging his tenure as Acting Manager.

Individual Board members thanked Chairman Barber for his years of service to San Joaquin County.

Don Moyer congratulated Chairman Barber for his expertise on water issues affecting this county.
