7:00 p.m. - Health Care Services Review Project: Mercer=s Presentation on National, State,

and Local Health Care Environment.

Chairman Simas gave brief opening comments on the previous public meetings and David Baker, CAO, gave introductory comments on the history of the Mercer Project.

Vice-Chairman Barber, Ad-Hoc Member of the Health Care Committee, read the Goals & Objectives into the record.

Colleen Murphy, Project Manager of Mercer, Inc., gave an overhead presentation and discussed the Health Care Environment documents prepared by Mercer, Inc., & stated the item would be back before the Board of Supervisors on Tuesday, November 18, 1997.

BOARD OF SUPERVISORS QUESTIONS & COMMENTS

Supervisor Marenco stated these meetings need to move forward and find a solution, and questioned Mercer regarding their findings of loss of revenue at the County Hospital and

requested information on the state of the Hospital.

Supervisor Gutierrez stated County Employees are concerned about their jobs and take pride in the jobs they do and the people they serve; and suggested the Board of Supervisors form a County Employee Citizens Review Committee.
