NAME: PUBLIC HEALTH ADVISORY
BOARD
COMPENSATION: None for meetings; receive actual &
necessary expenses.
LEGAL AUTHORITY: Division 1, Part 2, Chapter 6,
California Health & Safety Code Sections 880-972.
MEMBERSHIP,QUALIFICATIONS, & RESIDENCY REQUIREMENTS: 9
Members to reflect the demographics of the County. Must be
residents of San Joaquin County. No Member or their Spouse shall
be a full or part-time County Employee of Health Care Services or
an Employee of the State Department of Health Services.
TERM: 3 Year Terms - Expire June 30th.
DUTIES:
- A) To review San Joaquin County Public Health needs &
evaluate the adequacy of public health services, programs
& facilities to meet those needs.
- B) To advise on the structure & planning methodology
for all public health planning activities & review
& comment on plans prior to submission to State or
County Officials.
- C) To advise the Board of Supervisors, the Director of
Health Care Services, the County Health Officer, &
other public health officials as to any aspect of public
health programs.
- D) To submit an annual report to the Board of Supervisors
in January.
- E) To make recommendations to the Board of Supervisors
regarding appointment of a County Public Health Officer.
MEETING DATE & LOCATION: 4th Tuesday of each month
at 5:30 p.m., Public Health Services,1601 E. Hazelton Avenue,
Stockton, CA.
