COMMITTEE FACT SHEET
NAME: PLANNING COMMISSION
COMPENSATION: $50.00 per diem, mileage & actual and necessary expenses.
LEGAL AUTHORITY: Ordinances #1398, #1403, #3110, #3249 and Resolution R-86-671 dated 7/8/86.
MEMBERSHIP, QUALIFICATIONS, & RESIDENCY REQUIREMENTS: 7 Members appointed by the Board of Supervisors in the following manner: 5 Members (1 from each Supervisorial District); & 2 Members selected At-Large. At-Large Planning Commission positions are to be filled by a resident of the Supervisorial District with the largest number of applications before the Planning Commission in the 4 years immediately preceding the appointment.
TERM: 4 Year Terms. Terms start July 1st & expire June 30th.
DUTIES: Administration of the Zoning Ordinance & implementation of the General Plan through decisions concerning Use Permits, Tentative Subdivisions, Planning District Developments, Environmental Impact Reports, Road Names, & Quarry Excavations; Report/Recommendation on Zone Reclassifications, Specific Plans,Agricultural Preserves, General Plan Amendments & Text Amendments to the Zoning Ordinance.
MEETING DATE & LOCATION: 1st & 3rd Thursdays of each month at 7:00 p.m., (Pacific Standard Time) & 7:30 p.m. (Pacific Daylight Time), 1601 E. Hazelton Avenue, Public Health Auditorium, Stockton, CA.
