NAME: MOSQUITO & VECTOR CONTROL DISTRICT
COMPENSATION: $50.00 per meeting; no mileage to & from meetings; actual & necessary expenses for out-of-town trips.
LEGAL AUTHORITY: Resolution & Order of Consolidation, adopted by the Board of Supervisors on January 22, 1980.
MEMBERSHIP, QUALIFICATIONS, & RESIDENCY REQUIREMENTS: 5 Members appointed by the Board of Supervisors. 7 Members appointed by the 7 City Councils. Health & Safety Code Sections: 2242 - Each Member appointed by the governing body of the City shall be an elector of the City & a resident of that portion of the City which is in the District. 2243 - Each Member appointed from a County or portion of a County shall be an elector of the County & a resident of that portion of the County which is in the District. (As a condition of consolidation, there is one temporary Ex-Officio Member who shall fill the first County position vacated.
TERM: 2 Year Terms.
DUTIES: Take all necessary or proper steps for the extermination of mosquitoes in the District; abate as nuisances all stagnant pools of water & other breeding places for mosquitoes. Purchase materials, employ such personnel & contract for such services as may be necessary or proper in furtherance of the objects of this District.
MEETING DATE & LOCATION:3rd Tuesday of each month at 2:00 p.m., District Office, 7759 S. Airport Way, Stockton, CA.
