NAME: JUVENILE JUSTICE-DELINQUENCY PREVENTION COMMISSION
COMPENSATION: $25.00 per meeting in lieu of expense reimbursement; no mileage or expenses.
LEGAL AUTHORITY: Sections 225 & 233 of the State Welfare & Institutions Code; & Ordinance #1945 dated 8/1/72.
MEMBERSHIP, QUALIFICATIONS, & RESIDENCY REQUIREMENTS: 12 Members appointed by Superior Court, 5 of which are NOMINATED by the Board of Supervisors (1 from each Supervisorial District). Must have an interest in juvenile justice & delinquency prevention. Resident of San Joaquin County.
TERM: 4 Year Terms.
DUTIES: To inquire into administration of the Juvenile Court Law; to inspect any jail or lockup within the County which in the preceding calendar year was used for confinement for more than 24 hours of any minor; to cooperate with & assist in coordinating on a Countywide basis the work of those community agencies engaged in activities designed to prevent juvenile & adult delinquency.
MEETING DATE & LOCATION: 2nd & 4th Monday of each month at 4:00 p.m., Conference Room of Juvenile Justice Center, 535 W. Mathews Road, French Camp, CA, or other previously announced locations throughout the County.
