NAME: INTEGRATED WASTE
MANAGEMENT PLAN TASK FORCE

LEGAL AUTHORITY: Public Resources Code Section 40950
& Board Order B-90-259 dated 2/13/90.
MEMBERSHIP, QUALIFICATIONS, & RESIDENCY
REQUIREMENTS: Each City in the County selected a member of
its City Council & the Board of Supervisors selected 1
of its Members to represent the County.
TERM: The Task Force is ongoing.
DUTIES:
- 1. To identify solid waste management issues of
Countywide or Regional concerns.
- 2. Determine the need for solid waste collection systems,
processing facilities, & marketing strategies that
can serve more than 1 local jurisdiction within the
Region.
- 3. Facilitate the development of multi jurisdictional
arrangements for the marketing of recyclable materials.
- 4. To the extent possible, facilitate resolution of
conflicts & inconsistencies between or among city
source reduction & recycling elements.
- 5. Develop goals, policies, & procedures which are
consistent with guidelines & regulations adopted by
the Integrated Waste Management Board, to guide the
development of the siting element of the Countywide
Integrated Waste Management Plan.
- 6. To advise the Board of Supervisors on matters
pertaining to the Countywide Household Hazardous Waste
Program.
MEETING DATE & LOCATION: The Committee meets on an
"as needed" basis in the Public Health Services
Conference Room, 1601 E. Hazelton Avenue, Stockton, CA.
