NAME: HISTORIC RECORDS COMMISSION

COMPENSATION: None.

LEGAL AUTHORITY: California Government Code Section 26490.

MEMBERSHIP, QUALIFICATIONS, & RESIDENCYREQUIREMENTS 10 Members: 5 Voting Members, 3 Permanent Members as Established by the Government Code (County Clerk or designee; County Librarian or designee; & County Museum Director or designee);2 Remaining Members to be appointed by the Board of Supervisors. All Members shall be residents of San Joaquin County & shall possess an interest in historic, governmental nrecords. They shall be selected from the following fields: County Government; Library Services; Academic & Other Professional; Historians, Community History; Historical & Genealogical Societies or Associations; Business & Other Professionals.

TERM: 4 Year Terms. Initial appointees will determine by lot whose first term shall be 2 years & whose term shall be 4 years. Members may be reappointed by the Board of Supervisors. No limitation on reappointment.

DUTIES: This Commission conducts meetings & hearings & other activities so as to foster & promote the preservation of histori- cal records. Other duties to be determined.

MEETING DATE & LOCATION: 1st Thursday of each month at 3:00 p.m. at the San Joaquin Historical Museum Multi-Use Room, 11793 N. Micke Grove Road, Lodi, CA.
