NAME: ESCALON CEMETERY DISTRICT
COMPENSATION: None for meetings; actual & necessary expenses for meetings out-of-town.
LEGAL AUTHORITY: Resolution of the Board of Supervisors dated 1/23/39, Establishing the Cemetery District. Senate Bill 1685 authorizes staggered terms.
MEMBERSHIP, QUALIFICATIONS, & RESIDENCY REQUIREMENTS: 3 Members of the Board of Directors appointed by the Board of Supervisors. Must have an interest in the community & in the maintenance of a public cemetery. Must be a resident of the Escalon Cemetery District.
TERM: 4 Year Terms.
DUTIES: To be aware of the wishes of the community regarding upkeep & maintenance of Burwood Cemetery. Meet regularly to conduct all business regarding the above, such as prepare yearly budget, approve purchase of necessary supplies & equipment. Consider capital improvements.
MEETING DATE & LOCATION: 4th Tuesday of each January, & at least the 4th Tuesday of each 3rd month thereafter, at the Cemetery Office, 28320 E. River Road, Escalon, CA.
