NAME: COMMUNITY ACTION BOARD

COMPENSATION: Actual & necessary expenses per meeting.

LEGAL AUTHORITY: The Board of Supervisors will be guided by Federal Regulations Governing appointments to Community Action Boards.

MEMBERSHIP, QUALIFICATIONS, & RESIDENCY REQUIREMENTS: Must be a resident of San Joaquin County. 15 Members - 5 Private Organizations; 5 Elected Representatives of the Poor; & 5 Supervisors or Their Representatives.

TERM: 4 Year Terms (for representatives of Private Organizations & Representatives of the Poor. Elections for Representatives of the Poor are conducted by the Department of Aging & Community Services.

DUTIES: To recommend policy governing various aspects of the Community Action Programs. To cooperate with & assist in coordinating on a Countywide basis a community program for the low-income population of San Joaquin County.

MEETING DATE & LOCATION: The Last Tuesday of each month EXCEPT AUGUST, at 5:00 p.m., at various locations.
