NAME: CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION

COMPENSATION: $25.00 per diem with necessary & reasonable traveling expenses.

LEGAL AUTHORITY: Ordinance #518 ½ adopted by the Board of Supervisors after the Election held in November, 1948, which created & established a Merit System for the County of San Joaquin.

MEMBERSHIP, QUALIFICATIONS, & RESIDENCY REQUIREMENTS: 5 Members appointed by the Board of Supervisors (1 from each Supervisorial District). Qualified electors of San Joaquin County.

TERM: 4 Year Term.

DUTIES: Maintain an equitable & uniform procedure for dealing with personnel matters through a Civil Service Commission & to place County employment on a merit basis for the purpose of obtaining the highest efficiency & assuring that the best qualified persons available shall be brought into the service of the County.

MEETING DATE & LOCATION: 2nd Wednesday of every other the month at 5:30 p.m., Human Resources Department, 24 S. Hunter Street, #110, Stockton, CA. and Special Meetings as required.
