COMMITTEE FACT SHEET

 

NAME: CAL-ID SYSTEM/REMOTE ACCESS NETWORK (RAN) COMMITTEE

COMPENSATION: None, but may be reimbursed for related travel expenses.

LEGAL AUTHORITY: California Penal Code Section 11112.4(b), directs each County participating in the CAL-ID Program to form a Committee to determine placement of RAN equipment & to coordinate acceptance, delivery, & installation.

MEMBERSHIP, QUALIFICATIONS, & RESIDENCY REQUIREMENTS: 7 Members, chosen and/or appointed as follows:

A) 1 Member of the Board of Supervisors
B) The Sheriff
C) The District Attorney
D) 1 Mayor, selected by the City Selection Committee
E) 1 Member At-Large, selected by all other members.
F) All City Police Chiefs

TERM: Indeterminate.

DUTIES:

1. To determine placement of RAN & related equipment.
2. To coordinate acceptance, delivery, & installation of RAN & related equipment.
3. To establish procedures to regulate the ongoing use & maintenance of the equipment.

MEETING DATE & LOCATION: Meetings called as required by need & are held in the Sheriff’s Conference Room, 7000 S. Michael N. Canlis Blvd., French Camp, CA.
