The department consists of 36 employees and has a 2002-03 budget of
$2,726,603.
VISION/FUNCTION
The Agricultural Commissioner enforces
the provisions of the California Food and Agricultural Code for the
protection of the public's health, safety and welfare, and to promote and
protect the agricultural industry. The Agriculture Office consists
of three separate divisions: Agricultural Commissioner, Weights &
Measures, and Animal Control. The Agricultural Commissioner, who is
appointed by the County Board of Supervisors, directs the office. Scott
Hudson is the agricultural commissioner. |
