About San Joaquin County:Located at the heart of California’s rich San Joaquin Valley, San Joaquin County offers a unique blend of rural and urban qualities. Our home location, Stockton, is located 80 miles east of San Francisco and 50 miles south of Sacramento. The County is positioned for significant economic expansion and continued population growth with an active inland port, county regional airport, several major freeways and an expanding commuter and rail freight system. Stockton is within a reasonable commute from Modesto, the East San Francisco Bay Area, Sacramento and the Mother Lode region of the Sierra foothills. Suburban and rural housing opportunities are plentiful. The median home price in the City of Stockton is $330,000 according to the Stockton Chamber of Commerce. The climate consists of mild, snow free winters and warm, dry summers that are affected by breezes from the Delta river system. Facilities and events related to the arts and culture include the Haggin Museum, San Joaquin County Historical Museum, and the Stockton Children’s Museum, as well as the Stockton Symphony, San Joaquin County Ballet, and Stockton Civic Theater. Additional sports, arts and cultural attractions abound in easily reachable San Francisco, the Monterey Peninsula, Sacramento, Reno and Lake Tahoe. |
