  • MapMachine - National Geographic -Various maps

  • MapTech - Free online variety of views of a location; topo, nautical, aeronautical, nav photo. Software sales also.

  • TerraServer - Microsoft - Online satellite images.

  • TopoZone - The TopoZone is the Web's center for topographic map users and outdoor recreation enthusiasts. They have worked with the USGS to create the Web's first interactive topo map of the entire United States.

SPECIALIZED MAPPING SERVICES

  • ArcData Online ESRI Internet Mapping and Data Site - U.S., Canada, Europe, World street and hazard maps. Some maps require fee.

  • CERES - State environmental specialty maps

  • Dam Indundation maps listing - State OES developed (pdf)

  • Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRM) - FEMA

  • Online Hazard Maps - Project Impact initiative, FEMA and ESRI have formed a National Partnership in part aimed at providing multi-hazard maps and information to U.S. residents, business owners, schools, community groups, and local governments via the Internet.

  • Seismic Hazard Zone Maps - State Mines & Geology Division detailed maps identifying landslide and liquefaction÷or soft-soiled÷seismic hazard zones. If property is located in one of these areas, sellers now are required by law to disclose that information to buyers.

  • US Census 2000 - Maps and population information based on the 2000 census project. Includes TIGER.
