Losses due to livestock and poultry mortality and reduced milk and egg production are estimated to total $21,052,101 for 2006. Additionally, the impact from the heat wave on milk production is expected to continue into 2007 resulting in an additional loss of $18,945,411. See Damage Assessment form (pdf)

San Joaquin County has requested a USDA primary disaster declaration for San Joaquin County’s dairy, poultry, and livestock industries.
