17-Nov-05 Additional West Nile Activity Detected
San Joaquin County Mosquito and Vector Control District (the District) detected additional West Nile Virus (WNV) activity in a flock of sentinel chickens located in a rural area between Stockton and Lodi. The recent test results substantiate the fact that the mosquito-borne virus is still active in the area. Mild weather and flooding for agriculture and waterfowl habitat in the Delta-area has extended the mosquito season, so it is important that residents continue to take precautions against mosquito bites in order to reduce there exposure to the virus. 29-Aug-05 Risk Assessment Form
This shows the surveillance factor "activity risk", to base control operations methods, not direct risk to humans, equine,or birds or an area.. . . see form (pdf)
