of Supervisors Continue Local Emergency, Local Health
Officer Due To Influenza (Flu)
The San Joaquin County, Board
of Supervisors continues the below actions to
assist the Public Health Officer, and other care providers
all actions needed to responde to the influenza (Flu) of
seasonal and H1N1 (also known as Swine Flu):
- Local Governing body "Proclamation of the
Existance of a Local Emergency"
- Local Governing body Confirmed (ratified) the Local
Health Officers' "Declaration
of a Public Health Emergency."
Each action provides specific options to handle
the increasing need to reduce, contain, or other actions
needed to protect the public
health. These actions cover the Local Health
Officer, Emergency Medical Services, cities, responders,
medical/health
care
providers, and special districts (such as schools).

Command Team Position Training.
. . April 2010 through March 2011
A series of ICS position courses are being conducted in
San Joaquin County for positions in Command, Planning,
Logistics,
and Operations. A priority will be for those interested
in participating in the San Joaquin All-hazards Command Team. However,
additional seats are available for others in the San Joaquin
Operational Area. Remaining seats will be open to other
jurisdictions outside San Joaquin.

in Food Safety Courses Offered in Stockton-WIFSS.
. . Feb-April (2 sessions per month)
A 6-course series on AgroTerrorism is being co-sponsored
by the San Joaquin Agricultural Commisioner and the Office
of Emergency Servcies. You do not have to attend all sessions.
The Western Institute for Food Safety
and Security (WIFSS) was established
to
ensure
the
safety
of
California's
food
supply. WIFSS combines the expertise of the California
Department of Food and Agriculture, the California Department
of Health Services, the University of California, private
industry, and federal agencies to address emerging threats
