Housing Abatement

A program established to ensure minimum housing standards in the unincorporated area of the county. The EHD is designated as an enforcement agency for the San Joaquin County Housing and Nuisance Abatement Code, which adopted the State Housing Law and the Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings.

Authority: Ordinance Code of San Joaquin County Section 8-5003, California Health and Safety Code Section 17910 et seq.
Funding: Hourly Rate Fee for Service.
Clients/Customers: Unincorporated area Residents, Tenants, Property Owners.
Workload: Approximately 444 active Housing Abatement Cases.
