Smoking Enforcement

The EHD is the designated enforcement agency for AB13 and AB3037, in the unincorporated areas of San Joaquin County. These laws prohibit smoking in most enclosed work places in the State of California. Compliance with the law is achieved through education with informational packets and issuance of citations to repeat offenders.

Authority: California Labor Code Section 6404.5, Ordinance Code of San Joaquin County Section 5-1308.
Funding: General Fund
Clients/Customers: Unincorporated County Business Owners/Operators, Employees, General Public.
Workload: Approximately 20 Complaints per year.
